If my cycle is irregular (between 28-31 days on average), will my ovulation day change from cycle to cycle? Or, if I ovulated on day 16 last month (with a 12 day luteal phase) will I always ovulate on day 16 of my cycle?
I should probably know the answer to this but I don't!
No you may not always ovulate on day 16. The period that doesn't usually change much is the time after you ovulate to when you get af. But from af till ovulation can vary and is affected by stress, etc. I've been tracking my cycles for about a year and a half, and mine range from 14-22 days, the day ovulation occurs. However, some people are very regular and will ovulate the same day every month, but this would make your cycle most like always 28 days, or 31 days, not one or the other. Hope that made sense!
It can definitely vary (as can your LP). I would recommend using OPK each month to verify when you O to maximize your chances of conceiving. Best wishes, Scoopa!
