because the pain is to great! I just assumed it was from cysts and usually avoided those days. Well this month I did OPKs for the first time and I apparently ovulated a couple days ago. I was out of town the day my OPK was positive but the next two days we BD and it was sooo painful
. Last month it was on my left ovary and this month it's on my right. It excrutiating unless we find the perfect position...Is this normal? Could it be that it really is just a cyst that is confusing the OPK into thinking it's ovualtion??
right around ovulation too. I am certian that I ovulated becuae my cycle was monitored by my re. I too was wondering if this was normal. I am thinking I may be sore from the procedure.
As your ovary gets ready to release an egg there are multiple 'cysts' that are forming. If you're on any fertility meds it ups these numbrs and makes the ovary, in a sense, swollen
SURGE (the surge happens BEFORE the O) -- so this shows you have IMPENDING O... not that you actually O'ed. Your OPK could be reading your body is really ready to O with lots of LH, and so in a way, yes, the 'cyst' could fool the OPK. Also remember a +OPK will tell you that you're Oing withing the NEXT 24-48 hours... a temp shift shows you actually O'ed.
Hope all that helps! A little soreness is good/normal! Extreme pain could be bad news...
SSBD to you!
Hmm. Yeah it's pretty severe pain.
At least I know some pain is "normal."
owlbaby: I have PCOS which is the cyst I'm talking about. I didn't know until last month that the body actually normally produced a cysts corpeus luthem? I don't what it was that was interesting.
Thanks guys!
the last time I was on fertility meds I was doubled over in pain. It actually hurt to walk or move. Even when I'm not on fertility meds I get pretty bad ovulation pains. I don't think it's abnormal.
yes, every developing follicle is referred to as a 'cyst' before it actually becomes an ovum. Even without PCOS, many women will have developing cysts before O. I think the word 'cyst' sometimes scares us because we think of cancer, but these types of cysts are normal. Actually, an American doctor once told me a PCOS after looking at my US, but then a British and Swedish doctor looked at the same US and said those were all normal. I also don't have any other PCOS symptoms so even though I'm having a little hard time conceiving now, I still don't believe I have PCOS. I'm on clomid to help regulate my cycle and shorten the time frame up after being on birth control for 12 years and really screwing my body up.
Just watch the pain for a few more days... if it gets worse maybe call your doc.
SSBD!!!
I to had awful pains when I would have sex around my ovulation time. Just ovulating alone was awful and there were times when I would have sex and I would be in tears and having to stop. I have endometriosis though. They did an HSG test about 2 weeks ago and found out that my tubes and ovaries were fine but I also have cervical stenosis. I'm not sure if that plays a part in the pains while having sex during ovulation or not but I'm going to ask. I go for surgery on the 25th. Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy. If I were you I'd check into it though. Some pain IS normal but when you're in tears and doubled over(as with myself) I don't think that's very normal. I would tell my husband (around ovulation time) that it felt like a cantaloupe trying to squeeze through a toothpick. It was awful! Better safe than sorry. I wish you the best. Take Care. :)
Thanks guys. I feel less crazy. I wasn't doubled over crying just, OWW every now and then. And I had some ovary pain even just throughout the day. Hopefully it was O pain! It only lasted 2 days and it's gone now so fingers crossed! :)
I spoke with my RE about the same problem. It seems that it is just ovulation pain since it was confirmed by u/s that no ovarian cyst had developed. I hated the thought of BD'n since I knew it was going to be so painful. It would last a few days and sometimes it would take a while before my cervix would stop hurting.
I hope the best for you. I'm also feeling some lower abdominal pain. I hope it's O pain too, I had sex last night so hopefully the little sperms are in good shape along with the egg to come together.
This same thing happens to me and I, like you, just realized that it seems to coincide with ovulation time. I always thought is was cysts too. Sorry if TMI but I can never do any "deeper" positions during this time because the pain is unbearable. Good to know I'm not the only one though. Keep me posted if any of you get an further info on what this could be and whether or not it affect fertility.
