Ovulatory period or Anovulatory bleeding

I’m 25 years old, I recently had an abortion in December 2007. Shortly after the abortion I found out I have polycystic ovaries and had been put on Yasmin birth control pills. I took the pill for two cycles and stopped. Since I stopped I have been ttc and had cycles ranging from 28-29 days.  I know that some women "bleed" and it seems like a "period" but isn't a "period" and it’s called anovulatory bleeding.

My question is can you have a normal Period and still have a Ovulation problem? If the answer is yes how can this happened?  And how can you tell if it’s anovulatory bleeding and what’s the difference?

You mention you had an abortion. I would have them check to make sure there is no scarring, depending on what type of abortion you had, that can affect fertility.

It is possible, but most women with anovulatory cycles are irregular. Sounds like you're pretty regular, though, so I would think you're ovulating. Have you tried OPKs (ovulation perdictor kits)? Or maybe temperature charting? That would give you a better idea on whether or not you ovulate.

Best of luck!
