I have been on depo for about 2 years now and igot my last shot in may and i was just wondering how long does it usually take to completely leave your system before your able to have a baby

I was on depo for about 3 years straight and it took about 3 months for my cycles to get back on schedule.  Everyone is different but I had a friend of mine that had her last shot back in March and she found out she was pregnant in August.  I have another friend that swears she got preganant on the depo shot!

I was on the pill for years with no problem, then I was on depo for about 6 months and it didn't work at all.  I would not stop spotting just constantly.  I eventually stopped trying to make the depo work and switched back to  the pill, which I stayed on for a few years.  When we decided it was time to try to have a baby, I stopped taking the pills and went right back to the daily spotting/bleeding.  I never had any problems like that before the depo.  I was told to wait anywere from 3 to 6 months after the shot.  A friend of mine had a doctor that told her she could start trying after she had a normal cycle on her own.  Everyone is different.  Just be sure that if you have any problems w/coming off of it that you go in right away--I waited too long and now I have to taken iron supplements on top of everything else.  Good luck to you!
