i admire you that your trying to have a baby the most natural way possible but with PCOS when using met. and clomid and it dosent help its really hard, years and years might go by without knowing if you could ever get pregnant  you said you've been trying for over a year now i dont know how much longer i could have waited it took me and my husband 2 long years trying everything possible to finally be pregnant with our first and im 27 also, having a baby with PCOS is very much possible but you just never know when it will happen if you dont seek help, but i wish you the best and good luck.

I too have PCOS I was told I had it when I was 18, and I am now 27, married, and have been trying for over a year.  I tried clomind, and metformin together and no baby, now I'm just on metformin and still no baby.... My doctor referred me to another place to get help but I never called to make an appointment.  I want to have a baby the most natural way possible, so I'm going to keep trying with the metformin alone, to see what happens.. good luck

I have PCOS and got pregnant the month after coming off birth control pills. It helped to regulate my cycle enough to allow me to ovulate. It happened the first time by chance and the second time by using a ovulation monitor. There are several methods of getting pregnant with PCOS...don't worry it can happen.

Ok I see. I just seen all of the steps involved that you took to get pregnant, it just seemed pretty serious. You are very lucky to have a cycle every month.. then you have some kind of idea when you MIGHT ovulate... I have no idea, EVER.

my case of PCOS is not severe...in fact my doctor told me mine was mild..since i would always get my period every month they might have been off couple days but i would always get them...i had other issued like hormonals thas why met. alone dint work for me, clomid made me ovulate but i never got preggo because my egg wasent realising...you say you one 2 or 3 period a year that sounds to me like a severe case of PCOS...met. alone might not work..but at least you know you can use other meds. to get preggo like i did...good luck.

Usually with PCOS, depending on the severity.. Pregnancy usually can happen with Metformin alone. I know many women who have conceived with just the diabetes medication. If you have severe cases like it sounds 'Want2BeMama' has then it would take more than just the met. Im sorry you had to go through so much Want to Be.. but Congrats on the Pregnancy!!!!!!
Wow!!!

I have PCOS too... I usually have like 2 or 3 periods in a whole year.. I am hoping that Met will work for me... getting ready to go on it..
There is HOPE!!!

i was dx with PCOS in nov. 06 just couple months after i got married never in my life i knew what that was...i like you was having abnormal bleeding my periods would last like 10 days and couple times i got my period like twice in one month..anywas my OB put me on metformin 15000mg a day to help me regulate, lose weight and ovulate..couple months later i was still bleeding a lot and i had surgery in jan. 07 for polyps in my uteres..after that my bleeding was very light and still took metformin...than i started seeying an RE in march of 07 he put me on clomid to help me ovulate but it dint work after 4 months..we moved on into injectables and i was dx with high prolactin level(which is a hormone that your body produces when your pregnant) but since i wasent pregnant being high chances of getting pregnant were slim to none..so i started another medication and i skipped a cycle..in oct. i did my first round of injectable with IUI and im now 9 weeks preggo!
so to your question yes it can happen you just need a little help and a good RE!
sorry this was long but i hope i answered your question..good luck.

I have PCOS and was able to get pregnant.  It's something that is possible.  You have to get the pcos under control.  Possibly with the help of something like clomid to help you ovulate.
