yeah, what it is suppose to do is help break down the carbs and sugar in order to ovulate. With insulin resistance, your body produces too much testosterone...the metformin is suppose to reduce it and help us to ovulate...i hope that helped...but its hard bc i am new to it myself and dont know everything...
My wife was on Metformin before the last IVF cycle (4th one) and is pregnant now (with 3 triplet)!! She was diagnosed with Insulin resistance and so was put on Metformin for 2 and half months prior to IVF. We believe that this drug made a big difference in getting her pregnant. Good luck...Also, check for any spetum in the Ut.
So, it helps you ovulate like cloimd?? Or does it just help to regulate PCOS periods? Thanks for your help.
I am on metformin at the moment...just started so I am not sure about it yet...but its not bad, the side effects are minimal...little bit of extra bathroom use the first few days...but my doctor said it isnt as harsh as clomid and it usually works a little faster...so i hope it works good...it will be a month on it on the 21st...ill keep you posted.
