Painful nipples

Hey all - my nipples have been super sensitive and hurting a lot the past few days. It's actually quite painful. I've been pregnant twice before (both ended in miscarriage) and had tender/sore breasts both times, but never nipple pain like this. It could also just be a sign of ovulation since I don't think I ovulate every month. Anyone else experience this?

I have irregular periods so no app really works for me. I've been using ovulation prediction kits (which only tells you when you are about to ovulate - it doesn't actually confirm you did ovulate), as well as taking my morning temperature. I did notice a rise in temp last Thursday so *think* I ovulated but not sure. Not sure if the painful nipples is a sign of pregnancy or ovulation. Fingers crossed it's the first one!
