Pcos with fertility treatment

I have pcos. In going to start taking metformin which I was told has helped many women conceive. Periods have been regular but got onto birth control, the pill, to keep it regulating.

Will I be successful in conceiving our child/ren with metformin and after I get off birth control?

Metformin has been shown to increase fertility in women with PCOS. That being said, there are many other factors that play into infertility that needs to be investigated to maximize your chances (thyroid function, ovulation hormones, etc.). If you had regular periods before using birth control pills, there is a good chance you will conceive.

If you did not have regular periods, your doctor may recommend clomiphene, which is an oral medication to help you ovulate.
