Since you're quite young why dont you try a natural cycle?
This is when the doctor just monitors the one egg you produce in any month's cycle and if it is growing properly you can have that fertilised and then put back.
It has been a success to many 'poor responders' to stims and many doctors recommend it... it involves no stims and the costs are much lower than IVF.
I am sure there are many options for you Care76 you just have to keep trying.
Take care
Thank you all for your answers. I really appreciate them and you cannot believe how much it helps me to know that there are other people out there facing the same problem and I am not on my own!
I am continuing the cycle which means that I keep putting the stims but it will show 2morrow (having ultrasound) whether the 2 remaining follicles have grown further or not...
In my previous cycle I had less stims but produced 4 eggs out of which 3 fertilised and were transferred (had 1x8 cell,1X7 and 1x6).
My infertility problem I believe is mainly because I had chemo in the past (I am a cancer survivor, survived it 3 times). Since I have been cancer free for nearly 5 years I thought of giving it a try with ICSI and my eggs.
I am thinking the donor aspect however I think it will take me and DH a lot of time to get used to the idea.
I know if it ever happens I'll love my egg donor kid 100%, but will always wonder how my biological child would be...
To get donor eggs is my plan B but I'm just not ready to give up the dream of having my biological baby yet...
Thank you all again for your answers and I want to wish you a Happy New Year!
Have you looked into embryo adoption?
There are millions of babies out there waiting to be revived!
I have done 2 cycles of IVF and have had the same problem. First cycle I did 300 units of stims and had a total of 6 follicles. At transfer, 3 could be used but only 2 fertilized. Didn't get pregnant. This 2nd cycle, (just found out Monday I didn't get pregnant), my stims were doubled to 300 units 2x daily. I got a total of 4 follicles. At time of transfer, I had one that was at least a 24mm, others were good size, 1 was undersized but they helped it along. In the end, only 1 fertilized. I know how totally frustrating it can be. We did go ahead with ER and ET. My suggestion is to keep on with the cycle. You've came this far and, even though it hasn't worked for us yet, you only need 1.
I hope this helps and good luck to you!
I am sorry to hear this. Can you tell us your age & what your previous cycles were like? Ex: How many eggs did you produce previously?
