Please help! DH sperm was very low as well as his morphology...

Hi everyone!
We just got back my husbands sperm analysis and it was not good. Sperm was 15 million with low motility and very low morphology. Dr said it didn't look good and wants us to see a specialist. Out of the 15 million only 4% are strong enough to make it!! I ovulate fine, I have very regular cycles too. :( I couldn't get into the specialist for 2 more months! So any advice or success stories would be greatly appreciated so I don't go insane. Thanks ladies!

Thanks everyone! We only have one specialist in my town that's why it's so booked. I am aware of IUI and IVF I just don't want to give up on naturally conceiving unless I hear no positive feedback on it. I guess if I were still 22 I wouldn't be worrying but close to 30 and still wanting 3 kids I'm just running out of time. We will keep truckin along and hopefully God will bless us with a LO sooner than later! : )

I agree with everything that has already been said.  Make sure you have several SA to go off of.  Sperm can take up to 90 days to be made and if your husband has been in a hot tub or even put a laptop on his lap can alter his SA.  Is there any other Fertility Specialist you can see. if it takes 2 months to get in- that probably means that practice is too full.  you might want to look at another practice a bit smaller so they can get to know you and your needs and wants.

Hi- I'm in the same situation. My husband has very low motility and everything is fine with me (ovulate each month and regular periods). My RE said that we can start with IUI. We had our first one just this week. We may have to do IVF too, only time will tell. There are options, so keep looking ahead.

I wish you the best! Encourage your husband that it is not his fault. I say that b/c my husband felt guilty that I had to go through tests/procedures and he was the one with the issue. We've talked about this in depth and he realizes now that this is a team effort!

Hi,
My hubby also has problems with morphology, although count and motility fine. I have done a fair bit of research around this subject and he is taking zinc 80mg, vitamin C 2000mg as well as a multivitamin for fathers to be. He is also eating much better and has cut out all caffeine and hardly drinks alcohol. We are waiting for our second sa. I will post if it has improved!! Hope this helps a bit!

Good Luck to you & keep us posted.  Maybe you might have to do IVF so this way when they get the sperm they can inject right into the egg called (ICSI)  I know someone in my office doing that beecause her hubby had NO SPERM & they had to go in & do surgery to get it out.  KEEP THE FAITH...........

Hang in there....it could still happen.  Maybe they will give him some drugs to boost it or something.  One thing at a time.
