Please help...

Hi,
My fiance and i have seen a FS and she requested a HSG which came back all clear and my fiancee had a SAprior and everything was fine he had a sperm count of 24million motility was 80% n everything was good except his morphology was a little down so they made him test again, though we didnt exactly wait the 3 days and only like a day if that so im kinda thinkin the sperm test isnt gona come back great but i just cant be bothered putting it off another week ya know ... so my question is with a low sperm count and clear tubes do you think they may suggest IUI ?? im really hoping they wont go straight to IVF just yet...

Thanks in advance

my husband has a low sperm count too and they say low when its less than 20million.They put us straight to IVF. l think they usually do that to save time because they know chances are very slim to conceive through IUI

We are going back for our consult this Thursday so I will let you know what we find out. I have PCOS and he has double varicoceles. My RE looked at our testing from two years ago and she said that provided his hasn't gotten worse we should be able to do IUI. Good luck.

As promised here is what the RE told us. We went today and DH's SA showed good count (80 million), good motility (71%), and morphology was at 18% normal. This is an improvement from the last test two years ago. However she said that there is a test called strict morphology and if you get numbers under 4% then most RE's recommend IVF. We did not have this test done yet, but had one from two years ago. This test was the reason we pursued adoption b/c our Dr. didn't give us any hope or options. Anyway two years ago he was at 2%. The RE said that even though we had that number last time she still felt hopeful for us to be able to do IUI so that's our plan. We are going to try IUI in January and see what happens. I did not want to hear IVF b/c our insurance doesn't cover that. Hope that helps! Good luck!
