Pregnancy and Gestational Sac

Has anyone ever had an irregular shaped (oblongish/c-shaped) sac at 6weeks that resulted in a successful pregnacy?

Hi! Just got home after our first baby's first doppler ultrasound. The heartbeat is okay, the size of the baby is okay though the doctor commented that the gestational sac is somewhat irregular in shape - it's like a letter c. She said I must take dydrogesterone to keep the baby safe. I really am so optimistic about this pregnancy. Ive read such an inspiring experience from the previous post. Hope ours will be fine. Keep me posted mothers!

Thank you for your post!  Its been a long road for me and my husband.  We've had 5 m/c already.  We have to beautiful children from previous marriages, just none of our own.  When I went in last Monday I should have been 6 weeks, but they did no measurements, repeated on Wednesday.  The sac measured 6wk1 day and the tech thought she saw a heartbeat but wasn't sure. We go back next Wednesday for a repeat. I dont feel hopeful because of my history.

Don't give up - I thought last night after I answered your post - & they even said that my sac was flattened - & everything turned out OK.  Don't worry!

I shared this with someone else on this forum - but I wanted you to hear it too...

I was taking Clomid to help me ovulate & I got pregnant. I went to the doctor to have an ultrsound at week 5 to make sure everything was looking good. The person doing the ultrasound said they saw the sac but nothing was in it (said the sac was oblonged)- she said I was going to have a miscarriage. They even sent to have bloodwork done with the term 'Spontanious Abortion' written on the sheet! I was devasted! They made me mad the way they handled me - so I requested my file & wanted to go to another doctor. A friend of mine requested their doctor & they didn't want to see me until I was 8 weeks. I made it to 8 weeks - went to the new doctor & had another ultrasound done. I had already accepted that I was not going to have a baby. The Dr. was looking at the screen & turned the TV around & said 'Say hello to your baby!!' their was such a strong heartbeat! And 8 months later my son Charlie was born! So please do not give up - sometimes mistakes can be made. You may be a couple of weeks earlier than they think. I wish I could hug you - don't give up and pray about it! I sincerly think that you will have a beautiful baby (or maybe 2 of them!)

Good Luck-hopefully everything will be OK:)
