since September 2006. I ovulate very late and have long cycles most of the time. I've been worried about pcos but my RE says I don't have it, just polycystic
looking ovaries, not PCOS. Anyhow, because I don't ovulate in a timely manner I'm going to try clomid. Come Aug 27th, my RE says he will start my af if it doesn't come by then.
My question is, how long will I take the progesterone for and then when should my af come? Does that process take a few weeks before I can even get af to start the clomid?
I am just hoping that clomid will help me get pregnant with a healthy timely egg for a successful pregnancy! Thanks..
I used Provera (progesterone) to induce a period before starting Clomid. I thought I had it all timed out perfectly - I took 5 days of Provera and figured I'd get AF 1-3 days after the last pill. Well, try 18! Yeah, I was so ticked! AF didn't show until 18 days later. Then I started Clomid. So just be prepared. Many women, most women, will get AF much sooner than I did. You may take Pro. for either 5 days or 10 days depending on what your Dr. thinks. Then you usually use Clomid on days 3-7 or 5-9 of your Cycle.
GL!
I just wanted to wish you luck. I had 2 m/c last year and after the 2nd one the OB said I too may have (for lack of better words) "old" eggs since my cycles are pretty long. I was only about 6 weeks along when I miscarried both times and they said they really don't do any testing until after the 3rd one. Hopefully it won't go that far but we haven't gotten pregnant since the last one in Nov. I was also put on clomid but no luck:( It did make me ovulate in more regular cycles though
