Progesterone and AF

For those of you that have ever taken progesterone, once you stop it when did AF come?    I just wanted to get an idea of when i can expect it!    Also did many of yall have spotting once stopping or did AF just show up!  thanks so much!

Hi,
I've been on progesterone injections 3 times and AF has always came about 3 days after last shot. Usually with alittle spotting the first day then regular flow from there.

I have take progesterone pills and I got my period 5 days after I stopped taking them.  AF just showed up.  I didn't get any spotting.

Hi.  Are you taking suppositories, injections, pills?  I've been taking progesterone suppositories for two cycles now.  I was concerned about the same question; but for me, AF came while I was still taking them.  My doctor had told me, as soon as she arrives, stop taking the progesterone.  I use the progesterone 'cause my luteal phase was too short (9 days).  For the past two cycles, it lengthened it to 13 days.

Thanks!!! i'm taking the pills (capsules) vaginally though..  200mg at night only.. its my first cycle to do this , and my first IUI.. I didt' ovulate though since my follie didn't release the egg (of course a part of me hopes i just ovulated late and we BD'd and covered our bases) so i don't want to stop the progesterone too ealry, but on the other hand i want to stop it so i can get on to the next cycle and we can try this again! I also want to have a clue as to when to expect AF so i don't get caught by suprise!  its only been 12 days since IUI and 11 since they saw that I hadn't O'd so i've only been on it 7 nights so far, but i'm ready to stop it already! think that would hurt?    THANKs!!

I was on injections.  
AF arrived with spotting to light flow for 1st evening then VERY heavy on day 3 (today)!  I stopped injections Thursday evening, Beta was Fri. morning and AF began Sun. evening. So, 3 days is all it took for me to get AF from the time I quit the progesterone.

I took 10 mg pills for 10 days for a progesterone challenge for amenorrhea.  Last day was Friday.  Sunday night I started light spotting, Monday morning I started regular flow and completely stopped on Wednesday.

Thanks so much for yalls help!!! I had AF cramps today, so I am thinking i'll stop using them within the next couple of days.. get this show on the road so we can start another cycle! I just liked to have some sort of an idea/plan when AF will show!!! thanks!

Hi.  It sounds like we're taking the same pills.  I take them from the time I O (which is cycle day 16 or so) until AF starts (which for the two cycles I've done it so far has been cycle day 30).  AF arrived as expected for me, but I did ask my doctor what I should do if she doesn't...  I can't remember exactly when my doc said I should stop taking my pills if AF hasn't arrived & hpt is negative, so you may want to double check with your doc.  I'm thinking she said around cd 36 or so, which would make AF a week late ??  As I said, she just shows up as scheduled so I haven't had that hurdle yet !  :)
My main question is are you taking the progesterone AFTER you know you've O'd or are you taking it just sometime around that time?  My doc said it didn't matter, but I think this cycle I'll wait till my temp rises 'cause I've read that the progesterone is an unfriendly environment for sperm ??  Also, the progesterone raises your temps, so it could confuse your bbt.
