Progesterone shots

Hi Everyone,

I need some help. I've had 3 prior miscarriages all about 8 weeks or less. I'm prg again and just saw a heartbeat for the first time. After my doctor appointment, my doctor called me and said my progesterone levels dropped from 45 to 10 and my estrogen levels are low at 171. I just started progesterone shots daily and estrogen patches. I have been on progesterone pills once a day since I conceived. Has anyone else been in this situations. I've read that most people stop progesterone at 8 weeks since the placenta takes over. Does it make since to start this so late. I can't imagine losing another baby, especially after see the heartbeat and it's little body. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi- I have had two miscarriages in the past. i had to take progesterone shots and suppositories. I did the suppositories for 12 weeks. I'm not sure what my progesterone levels were during my first trimester, but then again my dr. never ran any tests on me. Some docs are just too lax. hope that makes you feel better, but I have heard you usually take shots etc the first 12 weeks
