Prolactin

How high does prolactin have to be to get pregnant.  Mine was high and has come down to 382 after taking Bromocriptine, is it still a bit on the high side?

prolactin has to be <20 ng/ml . .. 382 looks very high .. is that 382 ng/ml ? or is that in some other unit. .

Think it is measured mu/L whatever that is, but have been told it should be under 425mu/L, so is at the top end of normal I think?!

My prolactin level was very high when I was doing my IVF cycle. It was so high, my RE scheduled me for an MRI twice. I can't really recall the exact numbers but it was in the high hundreds like yours. Once I got on the medication, it made my prolactin level normal. You should have no problem once you take the medication. When I got preganant, my RE took me off the medication. Good luck.

Thanks think it is working, but wonder if I should increase my meds slightly to get it well within the right limit of normal?  Hopefully it will work in getting me pregnant soon!

Your RE should know if to increase your meds. Are you taking half a pill? I had to take half of that little pill and it worked. Good luck:-)

pls i've been trying 2 get pregnant 4 a year now and my hormone analysis reads thus;E2-182,PROG-3.3,PROL.-19.9,FSH-9.7,LH-10.1.(ng/ml) is dis normal?my doctor adviced that i do a hormone analysis wen he discovered discharge from my breast,coupled with my complain of irregular menstration.pls help me.

For TTC,my endo wants to see prolactin less than 400 (same units as yours).  Mine was close to 1000 when I started bromocriptine.  Then on 1 tablet a day it came down to the target no.
