hello all. I've only been on here for about a week or so, maybe two, and I have just tonight experienced something with this perscription that I've never felt before. Don't know what's going on. All of a sudden after laying down, I got up and wobbled around like I was drunk. I am so dizzy that I'm about to fall out of my chair, no puns either. Of course I'm in the middle of the ice storm, so I had to go downstairs to help my dad get into his vehichle, talked with my gyn, and he says to continue with the ibuprofin about those severe cramps I was telling you all about in my post, so I'm on that. But last round of prometrium I bled on days two through six, but this round nothing.
What is all of the dizziness from, I've been as relaxed as I can get, but I still don'tunderstand.can anyone help me out this round? Has anyone gotten so dizzy that they are seeing three of everything? what should I do...mind you I'm in an ice storm and there are down lines everywhere....PLEASE HELP ME!
Oh man, I got super dizzy too when taking prometrium. I only took it for about a week when my progesterone was low during my last pregnancy (ended in a miscarriage
), but I would get sooooo dizzy about 1/2 hour after taking the pill that I had to take it right before going to bed, so I could just go straight to sleep!!! I was taking 200 mg.
I did check the bottle, and it said that dizzyness was one of the side effects. Do you take it at night? If so, I would HIGHLY reccomend taking it right before bed...and make sure you're already tired :-)
thanks for the comment, so sorry to hear about your loss :( I do take it at bed. I take 400 mgs, and OMG I feel like I'm 30 sheets to the wind. bed times in ten minutes, was on my way to bed when i GOT HIT by the dizzy bug. my word...so it's common
Oh, I see! Well, this is what it says about prometrium and dizziness online:
"Prometrium may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you. If you experience extreme drowsiness or dizziness, the doctor may tell you to take Prometrium at bedtime."
So I guess it's considered a normal side effect. I hope it works for you, so you can get "back on track" and stop taking prometrium once the five days are up!
Alrighty then. Thanks again :) Must've just been a bad enough day to have the side effect happen, first time it did. I'm not dizzy at all this morning. must have been the meds kicking in super fast for some reason. oh well. The docs got me on it to start a period, so that he can put me on clomid. so yeah, having PCOS is just nerve
