Provera and ovulation

We went off birth control  to try and concieve (conceive) 6 months ago and had no period for several months. After a 5 day dose of provera I have had 2 regular periods at about 38 day cycles. Plus last week I had light spotting after intercourse.What are the odds of ovulation or pregnancy occuring?

You should discuss your case more with your Dr., I know that Provera brings on your cycle but does not necessary mean you will Ovulate.  I have been given Provera 10mg for 5 days to bring on my cycle and it happend about 17 days later after the 5 pill, then was prescribed 50mg of Clomid to help Ovulate.  This is my 1st cycle.  Prior to this I have only been off of BCP for about a year, had two mc's and cycles have always been very irregular.  In Jan I had lots of stress and took just over 50 days for that cycle to begin, so my OBGYN thought Provera and Clomid would help get my body started in the right direction.  I think you have good chances, but of course we must ovulate before we can have eggies.  Provera alone won't help unless your can ovulate on your own which I don't think my body was doing regular.  I am still waiting to Ovualte, hope to be sometime this weekend.
