Hi ladies. it's been awhile since i've posted.
and i have a couple questions about the medicne Provera.
This is my situation.
My daughter was born on Jan.31,08. she's 9 1/2MO.
3 months after her birth(and only 4wks of BF'ing), i had still not gotten my menstrual.
the Dr, tested, and the test was neg.
so he suggested i get on the Nuva Ring, to kick start my cycle.
Once on it for 3 months, i made the decision that it was not the right choice
for me.
the hormones completely affected my mood..and it was tearing us(DH & I) apart.
so i stopped.
i got a period the following month.
but NOTHNIG after that.
It's been about 3 FULL months since i've had a period.
I was recently added to my husbands insurance, so my options are limitless when
it comes to treatments.
I have my Dr's apt tomorrow with my OB, to have my pelvic
done,
and to talk to him about starting Provera to regulate my period.
I've done a lil research, and found that it doesn't induce ovulation, though.
so, i guess my question issss...
should i mention Clomid tomorrow along with the Provera?
and, if it would be at all possible for me to fall pregnant with this cycle of Provera..?
and if that pregnancy would be affected at all by the medicne..?
ANY input at all about Provera would be HIGHLY appreated!!!
Thank yall so much for yalls time!!
NO, you take the provera for 10 days to get the period. You won't O while on it. Because provera is progesterone which only comes after Ovulating. Once you stop taking the provera your AF will start. Then you have a chance to Ovulate.
I was given provera after not having a period for a yr. I was tested for everything an everything looks good i am jst not ovulating thy syd and since we have been tryin she gave me provera fr 10sys got my period (heavy one) 3 dys later and i started clomid on day 3-7 to ovulate. From my understand tht she told me the clomid is going to help me ovulate. Maybe you shld talk to your Dr and see if clomid mite be somthing u can take after your provera
This is true. You should inquire about Clomid to induce ovulation. Provera will only give you your period once it won't help you ovulate. You should get your period about 3-5 days from your last pill of provera then you should ovulate around CD14.
