Question about clomid in ivf cycle

Hi there,

I just went to the doctor to talk about starting my second ivf cycle.

My first one failed, after the two day-three embryos transferred did not implant.  The doctor said that everything worked well, except that I did not have enough good quality embryos (I had seven eggs retrieved, four were immature, three were fertilized, two grew into average embryos).

He is upping the gonal-f and adding clomid to the mix (along with the menopur).

Has anyone heard of this?  I thought clomid was for iui.

Has anyone done this?  Did you have bad side effects?  Did it work?
