I was on birth control for almost 4 years straight. I recently got married, and want to know exactly how long does it take for all the hormones to completely exit your body in order for you to get pregnant? I have read alot of different places that its hard for women to conceive after using birth control for such a long time. Anyone else heard of this? Or was I reading mumbo jumbo?!

hi there not sure if i can help very much but everyone is different you may fall pregnant straight away or it could take up to a year for a healthy couple to conceive.. also if it was just an oral contraceptive it wouldnt take to long to get out of your system but other birth controls like the depo shot or merina coil can take a lot longer to come out of your system.. best option is to wait for period to arrive and then start tracking your cycles so you can pin point ovulation .

hope that helps a little
