Quick question

Ok so I have been spotting off and on for like 2 wks. It is a brown discharge like what I get at the end of my period or when my period is about to start, but no full period. No sign of O and no positive pregnancy test. This is also the first sign of my menses since October when I came off my birth control. My fiance and I have unprotected sex which is why I took a pregnancy test, but I honestly  have no idea what is going on with my own body anymore... any ideas guys?
