within a year. No problem conceiving either time (1st time at 38, 2nd at 39).
Usually would not get a referral to a RE (after 3 m/c is typical), but because of my age, doctor said I may want to consider. But he also said there is a low chance of finding anything and that I should just try again asap.
So I'm going to go in for a workup -- I believe it includes hormone checks, hysteroscopy? Anyone have experience with this? Did it help you determine anything or not? I'd like to know from women with no prior health problem, abnormality or problem conceiving.
I haven't gone to a proper RE yet. I am 41 and mc in Jan. My OB is an RE and high risk OB but limits the practice to OB only now. She started by testing the tissue on the baby to see if was genetic, which happens more frequently with age. It was not. She did the day3 FSH/Lh/E2 test and day21 progesterone. I had an HSG and a few u/s. All my labs are normal and I did not have trouble conceiving the baby I lost. In fact, it happened on the first try, oddly. Since then I have been trying every month and so far nothing. I am now on my 2nd round of Clomid. Did they give any reasons for your mcs? They always say most likely chromosomal. Sometimes it can be just because of low progesterone.
No, didn't give me reason for m/c, just likely chromosomal. When I get pregnant again, dr. said I should check progesterone, although said supplements are controversial (although don't hurt). Thanks for sharing your info, I'm hoping it works for you this round. So far, I'm not taking any drugs but that could be next step if I don't conceive soon.
