Ready to give up... :(

I am so frustrated - second IUI and negative again. I am so tired of hearing negative it has been close to 3 years of TTC and the RE says it is unexplained....I want to give up. The worst thing is my best friend is due in 6 weeks with her fourth and I am trying to hold it together but I am losing hope.....
Should we move on to IVF? My insurance covers $6000.00?? I am so depressed...

I also have same problem ( unexplained ).
My RE said everything looks perfactly normal for you and
I am surprised why its not happening for you?
She suggest to wait for 3 to 4 months more as we didnt complete one year yet
and  then if it will not work she sugest to go for IVF instead iui bcz if its unexplained
then IVF is the best choice as it work as  diagnose and treatment procedure both.
So intead of wasting money on multiple iui( $2000  to  $3000 for us) go for a ivf  which has better success rate(60% to 75%)  for couple like you at your age(30) .
I am sure your RE also said you the same thing. And we can also ask in this forum as there are are so much good ladies over here to help us who has same problem and have a success eventually.
So we are going for one iui in Sept as our insurance covers one iui per year and then we will straight go to ivf .That way we can  atleast know wheres the problem actually.
Good Luck to You.

My friend had 7 failed IUIs and then had twins with her first cycle of IVF.  I'm not sure what the difference in success rates are between IUI and IVF.  I just had a failed IVF cycle myself, but luckily insurance pays for 3 cycles including meds.  If your insurance only covers $6,000, that's low considering it can cost $12,000 to 15,000.  Some insurance plans will cover IVF completely only after if you've had 3 failed IUI's.  Whatever you decide to do, I wish you luck.

I'm a little late, but I just wanted to wish you luck. I know how heart breaking it is to see a negative. I'm on my third IUI right now.  IVF does have a really high success rate, but you'll definatly have to do it when you feel the time is right. Good luck : )

I know it is difficult.. You just have to keep trying and keep believing it will happen...

For my son it was my 3rd IUI and with this pg it took 4 more...

best of luck to you.. i'm sorry it did not work out this cycle...

I say go for IVF! I've never done it, but I know that you have such a higher percentage rate of it happening! We did clomid for 5 months, 3 of those with iui, all negative. Then we moved on to injections with iui, and it worked on our 2nd try! Injections really do do the trick, but it just depends on how aggressive you are on getting your miracle, and I know you are willing to do anything to get your baby! That's awesome that your insurance covers some of your IVF, feel very lucky b/c most of the girls on here have to pay out of pocket for it all! I think you should definately talk with your RE about doing it, and they'll be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have. If you have unexplained infertility, I think most RE's highly recommend it! Good luck in whatever decision you decide to make, but just know that it will happen!

Sorry to hear that...I know how you feel..I had 3 failed iui's..
I was very sad just like you..So we decided to take a break instead giving up..I know we want to have a baby asap but sometimes it's better that way to take a break from it because it can cause depression!..I dunno know about your financial situation..But if your insurance covers all that if you have possiblities cover the rest and try ivf! With Ivf you have better chances..But I would try at least one or two more iui's before you make that move,it's just my opnion, but never give up your dream..Dreams can become reality..

Good Luck to you

Erika.

I am so sorry. The ttc journey just sometimes seems so unfair. It seems like the whole world around us is pregnant when we are desperately trying.

I hope that your time to shine comes quickly! Good luck!
