Regular tea while ttc ???

Okay.  So, I've heard that green tea is a no-no while ttc, but what about regular, caffeine-free tea?  Is there any problem with switching to that while ttc & in the tww?
Thanks, ladies :)

Thanks, ladies :)  I drink green tea & coffee before my tww, and switch to caffeinef-free fruit tea during my tww.  It's great, but sure doesn't do for me what coffee does !!! :)

I know, i always thought green tea was better for you too, but I guess it's not good if it interferes with our folic acid and other vitamins.  Probably though, as with most things, anything in moderation should be OK.  I usually have a small cup of green tea in the AM, but switch to decaf regular tea during the TWW.  I've also found decaf white tea and I LOVE it!  Has anyone every tried that, or know if that's OK?

HEY!!!  Just live in WATER...!!! Just kidding..you know how I am!!!!....

That IS a good question..but you know how one day in the news they say how good a wine or beer is good for ther prevention on whatever illness...I truely beleive that is all depends where the info or study came...of course if the studies are paid by the products company, they will def find something good about it....I beleive everything has its pro and cons and if you don't consume it in a balance way, it will harm someway or another. Even doctors have different opinions...like mine...he says that folic acid capsuls aren't necessary for everyone, that is just business, becuase if you do eat a balance meal, you will be able to absorb all the folic acid you will need....In my case, I do keep a balance meal, but I also take folic acid, just in case. My doc also had a hard time TTC, that is why he is SO GREAT, him and his wife lost 3 pregnancys, and he told us that he would give is wife a glass of wine/alcohol (sorry don't remember what kind) everyday, and this is how they now have 3 healthy children (well adults now)...of course he explain what the problem was and how the alcohol help, but I don't remember.

Talk to you later!

green tea is not good while TTC or 2ww....green tea absorbs folic acid and other vitamins in our body...leads to iron deficiency too...and the positive aspect is not so raved out so why take a chance...i would say a complete no as folic acid is not only required during preg but even before that...

A friend was told by her acu to drink green tea (guess it goes along with other comments).  I also read that as long as you steep green tea less than 2 minutes there should be no caffiene (sorry I don't remember the source but at the time thought it was valid / reliable).

Thanks, ladies :)  Babyblue, I thought the same thing about green tea, until I just recently learned otherwise.  I appreciate your input :)

BabyBlue: You're right about green tea. It can help with your cervical mucus before O, but after O, it's advised that you stop drinking it, since it can deplete your body of folic acid, which you need if you're pregnant :-)

I heard different.  while you are TTC, green tea does help you but when you are pregnant, green tea can cause miscarriage.

I think caffein free tea is fine. It doesn't interfere with folic acid absorption, like green tea can, and since it's caffeine free, you won't have to worry about that having an effect either.
