Rising HCG after 2 stagnant blood tests

Hi,  I am new to this site.  I recently became pregnant through IVF.  After an initial positive blood test with hcg of 90, my blood level dropped to 70 on the 2nd blood test 3 days later, and stayed at 70 on the third test 3 days after that.  I just had another blood test this morning (again 3 days later) and my hcg is rising.  Doctor's office is closed, and I have no idea what this could mean.

Any ideas??

Unfortunately i'm going through the same thing.i had my third ivf, having the first 2 failed and this one i had a positive beta last wednesday. The beta was 87.2 I had it repeit it on friday and it droped at 78.Not a good sign.HCG never should drop.My doctor said that maybe i had 2 embryos implanted and one didn't make it.I don't believe that not in my case since i have had 3 m/c and all started when the hcg was not rising. But since your beta is going up maybe is a good sign for you. Good luck

First of all, I'm sorry you're having to go through all this...as if IVF isn't stressful enough as is. Generally, a decrease in HCG is not a good sign, but there is a chance that you had a vanishing twin...especially since you did IVF. Did you have two (or more) embryos transferred? A vanishing twin is basically where two embryos start to implant and both produce HCG, then one stops developing and the levels go down or stagnate temporarily.

Best of luck with everything! I hope you get some good news at your next appointment!
