Robitussin and its effect of gettn preg ;)

~ So i heard that Robitussin can help your cervical mucus and increases your chances of getting pregnant
was wondering if anyone HAD DONE THIS AND HAD SUCESS....... and if so how do take it.......as in how much and how many days,when to start it ;)

I used it and it helps thin the mucus out so the sperm can swim easier. It also works for guys with thick seman! I was to use it every 4 hours from a week prior to O and then stop on the day after. I also used a Instead cup to keep it all up there and warm:) I am pregnant with a boy and will be 23 weeks on Wednesday. You have to use the plain robitussin with no letters or numbers behind it! All it is a for thinning mucus/congestion in the body!

Aww Congrarst, thanks so much...were you also taking clomid are not... I am on my 2nd round this month...i didnt O on 50mg last month.....so keepn my fingers crossed.....

I used Mucinex which has the same ingredient (guaifenesin) in it as Robitussin, but it does not taste bad because it is a pill. I used it for my 2nd round of Clomid and I am now 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant!!! I started it 3 days after my last Clomid pill and continued to take it until I knew I had ovulated. I took 600 mg once per day. I hope that helps! good luck

This is an interesting thread. Have any of you used it when doing IUI as well? i know iui sort of by passes the cervical mucus part but i read you still have CM in your fallopian tubes and then of course my dr always advises us to bd as well as the IUI. I think i'm going to try it this cycle....

I'm on 50mg of clomid days 3 to 7 and today is cd 15. I have real bad pain down there and i think i'll be ovulating soon....is it too late to take guaifenesin? I have it in a syrup...how much should i be taking?

I'm quit troubled because i do try and check my cervical mucus but it's not stretchy like it should be :-( It's watery and cloudy.

HI I am on my 1DPO and I too used Mucinex  and OMG does this work to help the lil swimmers I must say that I love using it, it help for them to stick and not fall out. I am not one to need lube but man this thin out mine that was great for both my DH and I. I will tell any one to use it when taking Cloimd, Mucinex works wonders. I think it might have help even with my O. I O early in this cylce I O on Cd 15 I NEVER in my life O this early. Maybe that or it could have just been the Clomid 100mg i took this time on cd 3-7.
I will tell anyone to use Mucinex its the best thing. I used it on till the weekend I thought I O not the Day I O. But it still was in my system so it worked.

and as for si_di I would say to use it if you have not O yet. take it three times a day in syrup form. and but be 200mg you take three times a day. and must drink lots of water to help it.
