Hey girls. We are going for the SA results (FINALLY!! UGH!) tomorrow morning. I think they did the Kruger test but I don't know. Didn't ask :) Anyway, what do I need to be looking for? What is nromal in the diferent ares. I don't wanna sit there and have her tell me that the results are borderline
The Kruger scale is for morphology, which indicates the percentage of normally shaped sperm. I think it depends on the lab what is normal and what is abnormal. Ours considers anything above 10% normal. There is motility, which is the percentage of sperm that are able to swim normally. Above 50% is normal. Then there is count. And I believe anything over 40 mil/mL is normal, at least for our lab. You will be able to Google your results anyway to find out whether or not they are normal. And I would not move forward on anything without doing a second SA at least a month later. We did, and DH has severe OAT, which means he has 0 morph, poor swimmers
Thanks - DH had a SA done about a year ago and it was fine. They just did a normal SA, not a Kruger. I think the RE had a kruger done this time. Guess I will find out tomrrow - just want to go in with enough knowledge to know if she is bull-crapping me :) You know, exaggerating just a bit to push us over the edge to IVF when it isn't nessasary.
