SHOULD I MOVE TO IVF YET???

Hi ladies!!!

Here is my story, and I hope you can help!!

I gave birth to a beautiful son, Dec 05, at age 32.  He was conceived during my first ever natural IUI - no meds, just blood tracking.  I then went on to have my gorgeous daughter, July 08.  I had two failed natural IUI's, and then it was found I was ovulating too quickly, around day 9, so my RE suggested I use meds to create a controlled cycle.  First IUI using puregon and buserelin, I conceived, and was overjoyed.  I created around three mature follies, plus smaller ones, so there was a risk of multiples, but a singleton eventuated.  Now, I'm wanting my last child, to round off my family.  Anyway, my first cycle using puregon, back in June, was cancelled, as I created about seven mature follies, and smaller  ones.  My clinic is very conservative, as I already have two children, and only want one more.  So, my puregon dose was decreased to 50iu.  My second cycle got to the IUI stage, but I was sure I ovulated before I took the trigger.  Anyhow, the cycle was a failure.  Now I'm looking to do my next IUI in a couple of weeks, and aren't very confident.  I figure if IUI worked for my twice before, why didn't it work last time??  Has anyone been in this situation?  I'm thinking I should move onto IVF next time, instead of wasting more money on IUI.  I had the option of converting my cancelled cycle back in June to IVF, and now regret I hadn't.
Any thoughts or advice on my situation would be so welcomed, as I'm just not sure what I should do.   I will talk it over with my RE, but sometimes the words of other women going through similar predicaments is just so much more useful.
BABY DUST TO ALL OF US!!!!

Thanks for your reply Helen!

I know nothing is 100%, but IVF is higher than IUI, and the thing is, that with the added costs of drugs, blood tests, scans and all, IUI, with meds gets to be about a third of the cost of an IVF cycle.  But you're right in that I was successful before with IUI, and that is promising.  I'm just wondering now that maybe since I'm 37, it's just going to be that much harder.

Success rates for IUI are never 100%.  Since IUI worked for you before I think you should try IUI a few more times before moving onto a more invasive and expensive ivf.

Good luck!
