Sac ruptures.....and loss of amniotic fluid....

Hi, My name is Tj.....my daughter recently lost her third baby......her first in 2004.....was because of a Septum dividing her Uterus in two.....which therefore caused early labor but the baby a girl was only 5 months along and of course did not survive......My daughter had two operations to correct the Septum.....(after taking medication to put her into menopause to cause less or no bleeding during the operations)......she waited a year and got pregnant again.......at the 5 months  she lost all of the amniotic fluid but retained her plug and her cervix was still closed....it was suggested she abort (not knowing that some of these babies will survive but are born earlier).......girl......apparently a 1 in 500 chance of this happening........she got pregnant again a few months later ....at 4 months was told she was having a boy and again at 18 weeks she lost all of her amniotic fluid but this time rather than aborting....continued on with hope.....unfortunately at 28 weeks.....after having steriod injections at 24 weeks.....she gave birth and he did not survive as his lungs had not developed......there were five babies born to that particular High Risk Centre that survived the odds of not having any amniotic fluid.......one in particular that survive came at 25 weeks.....I am wondering if anyone of you have had similar pregnancies......or know about this.....and have gone on to have babies without losing the amniotic fluid.....or could this be the result of having the septum removed.....

I am really looking for answers......thank you

Well sounds like yall are doing everything yall can!   Was it folic acid that that person was missing? I have a genetic disorder (they tested me not my previous lost pregnancies-total of 4 but earlier than your daughters) and it showed i have two copies of a gene that causes my body to be low in folic acid, therefore i'm going to be on thinners and am now taking lots of folic acid.. i would think she has been tested for this already, but if not, thats definitely something to test for....Good luck, sounds like your in good hands! your family will be in my prayers!

She did not have a cervical problem nor did she lose the mucus problem and they had Genetic testing after the 2nd baby was lost......she was with the "High Risk Center" in the Ottawa General Hospital with specilized medical staff.   Someone recently told her that another woman had a similar problem and it was found that this women was lacking some vitamen or mineral in her system (do not know what it is)........and after she took the replacement for a year had 3 successful pregnancies......we are collected as much data as we can.....so we can be armed when and if it decided to contact a "clinic" dealing with these kinds of losses.....thank you for answering this even though you could not add much......I am grateful that you took the time to care............thank you again

hello, i'm SO SO sorry to hear what she has been through, i cant' even imagine what that must be like.. i have not been through similar, however, i hope this might help!   were they concerned about cervical incompetence at all? most of the mc's caused by this can happen around the 20 week mark.. typically if that is a concern then they can put a cerclage (big stich) into her cervix and that can typically help.. that plus very close monitoring.. she would just need to go to a high risk OBGYN and they would monitor her cervical length around the critical times that she seems to loose pregnancies.. also has she been checked for genetic disorders - such as clotting etc? some clotting disorders can cause later term losses, and all thats needed to correct them is being put on an asprin or blood thinners..... as far as the septum causing this, if it has been removed and she is able to get pregnant and stay pregnant that long, i would doubt its related, but i'm not sure ( i would think if its an issue with scar tissue the embryo couldn't implant on the area surgery was performed, howeveri wouln'dt think it would cause problems later than that) I would see a fertility dr + a high risk OBGYN once she is pregnant again.. again i'm sooo soo sorry for your losses!
