Salpingectomy and miscarriage

Salpingectomy and miscarriage

Hi, I'm new to this group, in May 07 we had an Ectopic at 8 weeks, was told at the time that they had snipped end of tube off and not removed whole thing. We even double checked at the time as they originally told us they would be removing it so we were really confused. They said it would work as normal but higher risk of another EP.

Since then we have been trying with no joy every month gets harder and harder and I worry as I am also now 36. Luckily on 11th December we had a positive pregnancy test! Thought it would never happen, unfortunatly I experienced bad cramping, pain where I had my last EP and terrible upset bowels.

Started bleeding at 6 weeks, then got taken to hospital, they identified a 15 x 18 mm mass exactly where last EP was and so they admitted me for surgery as pregnancy hormone still present but faint at 138. The specialist then came to see me and advised he did not want to operate. Here's where we are confused, he said that there is no way we could have conceived in left tube as my previous notes say that I had salpingectomy, and the amount of tube left didn't matter as if the end was snipped off then it would be closed over anyway.

I am going to see specialist next week but if anyone had had similar, or has any helpful advice I would love to hear from you, at the moment, my assumption is that hopefully we experienced a normal miscarriage, and the mass and left hand pain is not linked to the loss but at the same time needs to be investigated, I have had pain on left hand side since last yr but it did feel worse with pregnancy.

Sorry this is so long I just wanted to include all detail.
