Should I throw in the towel?

Hey Ladies!

I'm letting you know a little about me...I've been TTC for 3 years after coming of birth control I never got my period on my own....diagnosed with PCOS...I went to my family DR who gave me provera, and we did this 3 or 4 times before she referred me to an RE.

The RE is fantastic, ran a thousand tests, semen analysis, blood work, cycle monitoring, sono, and said that everything looked good...i just wasn't ovulating.

Anyways, they started me on clomid and said that i responded very well to it - ovulated with 3 folicles and practiced with my hubby every 48 hours.  Anyways, did 3 months of clomid with no BFP.

Dr said they can't figure out why it's not happening...apparently everything is working well, but the sperm and the egg are playing shy with each other.  I'm so sad seeing all my facebook friends posting pics and pregnancy stories, I mean, I'm happy for them...but jealous too - I want it so bad!

The Dr. told me Clomid should not be taken for more then 3 months at a time so I'm done...now what?! I'm ready to give up as this whole infertility thing is consuming my life, and I feel like a horrible wife that I can't give my husband a child.

There are other meds you can take.  Femara is one and there are also injectable medications as well.  In some cases clomid can thin your uterine lining making it impossible for your egg to implant.  The femara and injectibles do not thin the lining so that may be another option for you.  I would ask about it.  Good luck.

My dr let me do it for 8 months. 3 months at 100 2 at 150 and 3 at 200.  i then went to re. We have been trying for over 5 years. God has his plan. I changed re after 5 iuis  2 surgeries, 1 natural pregnancy ended in mc, two iui pregnances end with mc, and several early mc 4-5 weeks. all that he said was left was ivf. turns out he did run all possible test.  New re did and figured out the problem so now we are moving forward.

I would see about a higher dosage, consider iui, GL

I wouldn't give up either.  Even though it feels like a lifetime, it's really not.  Probably asking some stupid questions here but are they confirming ovulation with your CD 21 progesterone test?  Have they kept you on the same mg's?   Are you able to do IUI?

I've been TTC for 9 yrs now and was on clomid for 3 months also.  First I was on 50 mg's and then they bumped me to 100 mg.  I had to take progesterone when they did my CD 21 test since mine was only 9 and RE said they like it around 15.  So, a week later while taking the progesterone it jumped it up to 16 :D , he was happy and so was I lol.  But alas, no baby yet.  I do hope and pray you get the little miracle you deserve!  Try to stay positive!!  Best of luck!!
