So confused (failed ivf)

Recently I underwent Invitrofertilization. They retrieved 6 Mature eggs. All fertilized very well i was told. Then the day of transplant I was told all but two did not continue to fertilize. I did not have a positive pregnancy test. In my last meeting with my Doctor he said he was confused about why I would have such a low egg count. ( Our reson for IVF was low sperm count and endometriosis , which had been scoped) I am 28, never smoked, no alcohol, average in height and weight, no family history of infertility. And he says " i can't figure it out but it must be genetic and I think you need an egg donor" How does that make sense at all? He didnt even ask me about my families fertility! Im so confused as to what could have caused this problem.

There are only two things I can possibly think of - (1) we bought unused follistem off someone at the clinic and it was expiring that month. (2) I do have a bit of insulin resistance and after reading " The Fertility Diet" which shows solutions to ovulatory infertility, maybe that contributes.

Im just so frustrated that my Doctor gave up so quickly.

Has anyone had any similar experiences/ advice? What do you think? Help me resolve my feelings please.

Thanks so much for responding...
Honestly I was so heartbroken I threw all of that away.... I know, dumb.
I do remember that he had me on 225iu 2 times daily from the begining of follistim.
And I was on follistim for quite a long time, well longer than they originally told me it would be...Im thinking we went thought at least a week. If not more.

I never took BC pills before invitro and they did have me on them for about 45 days.
Im trying to remember how long I took lupron ( thats the trigger shot right?) Im pretty sure it was twice.

This was back in April, Im just now feeling like I can talk about it

Ill have to call them and have them send me my ivf protocol that happened.

yeah ur DR look fast in the reaction, i gues u can change the DR,,,He should not have said that,,And with low sperm count,,if he is saying you should go for sperm donor,,that is acceptible,,but why should he say that so quickly,,may be u need some higher dose of FSH darling,,nothing is there to worry,,i have my own story to say,,but now not necessary,,u r in need,,can u check how many injections u made? And we can see clearly what happens,,,
In these days,,we the patients should even take the research on the medicines,,,i do that,,if not u can do that,,just tell me if u wish,,
Dont get down,,problem is with the DR,,smile..:)

A different drug protocol sometimes can improve your egg count.  Before going for DE you should get a second opinion elsewhere.
I am so very sorry your first ivf failed...

To be honest.. some women just do not respond well to the fertility drugs.  I have seen it time and time again.  Have you had your FSH and Estradiol checked on cycle day 3?  If so, what were the numbers?  That is usually a good indicator.  If those numbers are fine, then it could be the IVF protocol your RE had you on.  Maybe too much suppression.. did you take Lupron or Birth Control pills for an extended period of time?  Also, what was your dosage of FSH during your stimulation???
Also, after only 1 failed IVF attempt, at your age, your RE should NOT be saying that to you!!!  Sounds like you may need a second opinion.
