Starting Injectibles today

Hello...

After a year of trying...I did 3 cycles with clomid and two unseccessful IUI's....my husbands sperm count washed is around 18 - 20MM with good motility but still we did not have success.  My RE wants me to start injectibles and continue with IUI's..if no success we will move to IVF after Jan 1.  I will be 34 next month and my hunband will be 36 in Decmber.  My question is what side effects do the injectibles cause if any?

Wish me luck...I am not discouraged yet and am really excited...fingers crossed!

The Follistim has a really tiny needle and I can barely feel it. The HCG trigger is a little bigger but not bad at all. I give them to myself in the stomach as intructed by my RE. I like giving them to myself b/c I think it is easier. Just make sure you put a little force behind it. Kinda like throwing a dart. It is real easy. They will give you instructions. If you want DH to do it that would be fine too. Good Luck this cycle and SSBD :)

Do the injections hurt at all? I'm not afraid of a little ***** (hee hee, I said *****) I just want to know what to expect. Do you think I should do it myself or have my dh do it? I was thinking I wanted him to do it.

I'm doing round 3 of Clomid this cycle, but this time with HcG trigger and IUI. I'm really excited.

I wish you and AndreaG all the best!

I am on my 3rd injectable w/ IUI cycle. My husband did have low motility but it has improved alot over the past few months b/c he had surgery to correct a varicocele. I have had no side effects for the injections. I actually had alot when I was on clomid so I don't really mind the injections at all. I think you have a great chance that it will work. Good Luck and lots of SSBD :)
