TTC - Late ovulation questions

Hello. I'm 34 years old and my husband and I have been ttc for about 7 months. I have been paying attention to my cm every month, and it seems that this past month I ovulated about 7-8 days before my period was due, instead of 2 weeks. My period was due on the 15th and it is now the 17th and I have not started. I've had some minor cramps and pains in my abdomen, but not as bad as they usually are when expecting my period. My periods are usually terrible and I start feeling symptoms two weeks before - sore breasts, bloating, etc. My periods are NOT like clockwork, and do sometimes show up late. But this month I feel different.

My questions are: Since I believe I ovulated late, will my period be late? If not, how long after my missed period would I get a positive HPT if I ovulated, and possibly conceived, late into my cycle?

The symptoms I've had in the past 9 days have been:
Sore nipples but breasts ok(never had it like this)
itchy breasts
one day feeling like i had a fever and was coming down with the flu
sore throat for the past 2 days
headaches
hot and cold flashes
crampy, and little stabby feelings (only on left side)
weird overwhelming butterfly/nervousness feeling out of the blue one night. I was just watching TV and all of the sudden I got this weird fluttery feeling and felt like I was almost having an anxiety attack - for no apparent reason. Was totally relaxed at the time.
Late period with mild pre-mentral symptoms (I'm usually a mess!)

Anyway, let me know if anyone has any advice for someone who is a late ovulater, and has erratic periods. Thanks!

First off it can take a healthy couple up to 18 months to conceive, also there are many things that you can do to TTC (Try To Conceive) for instance you can chart your basal body temp at the same time each day to detect when you will ovulate, check your CM (Cervical Mucus), use OPK's (Ovulation Predictor Test) they also tell you when you ovulate, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on them you can always buy the tests at the dollar store. Also after I had my IUD removed in July 2009 I tried almost everything imaginable, such as keeping my legs up for 30min after baby dancing to make sure that no sperm got out, stayed on the bottom, since I read that if the women's on top more sperm will come out, etc. But after 6 1/2 months of trying and no luck I read about a product called pre-seed found at babyhopes.com, it's suppose to be the only lubricant safe for sperm, and it also helps get the sperm where it needs to go, I thought I might as well get it since I had nothing else to lose, and I was going on 7 months of TTC. So that month I used my OPK's and got a positive one on January 6th, 2010, my husband and I baby danced late that night using the pre-seed, and then early morning of the 7th. I finally got my BFP (Big Fat Positive) on January 19th, 2010, I am now 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant with a healthy baby boy =0) So I recommend this product to EVERYONE, since I really think that this is what gave me my BFP! Well I hope this helps, and good luck!

I would buy a $1 test at the dollar tree. U r a few days late If u havent started by in the morning take it. It will put u at 3 days late. It could still be wrong. IF u dont start by next wednesday then i would call your dr.  Best of luck.

Generally the baby will implant in the uterus between one and two weeks after conception.  Within a couple days after the baby implants, you should be able to get a positive test.  That being said, there are some women who, even at several months pregnant, will still get a negative urine test.

Symptoms wise, some of these sound like pregnancy but could be other things as well.  Most women don't notice symptoms until implantation or after.

It sounds like it has been 9 to 10 days since conception would have taken place, if you are pregnant.  You could do a hpt now just to see but it may not be accurate yet.  If you wait another 4 or 5 days, you will probably get accurate results.  Make sure you use the first morning urine when you test.  This is when the urine is most concentrated and yields the most accurate results.
