TTC after ectopic...now what-how soon???

I had an ectopic pregnancy and took 1 dexamethasone injection which seemed to do the trick.  My Hcg levels are now down to 5 which is right where I need to be.  I have stopped bleeding for almost 5 days now.  My husband is quite anxious and wants us to start trying for another baby right away.....like now!  The nurse said to wait for one period and then start, but my sister, who used to work at a fertility specialist said that the only reason why they said to wait one month was for dating conception purposes, and that I can start back right away since my uterus was untouched and I only suffered a pregnancy in my right tube.  Can anyone help me with this?  Has anyone concieved quickly after an ectopic and had no problems?  Please Help!!!!

HI there

I have had an ectopic pregnancy but am not familiar with the drug dexamethasone. I was treated with methotrexate injection and was told not to TTC for 3 months as the drug would cause problems with the fetus if I fell pregnant any sooner. I think thats the most important thing that you need to find out from the doctor (the effects of this drug on TTC) as you dont need any more heartache then you have already been through.

Good luck to you.
