TTC with an irregular cycle

Hi. My husband and I have been TTC for over a year. I've had an ultrasound which showed no abnormalities, and my husbands sperm has been tested and was "above average". I have never had a regular period and my cycle can vary from 27 to 47 days, which makes it hard for me to count out when i should be ovulating. I've tried using signals such as when my discharge is "watery" like but I'm obviously still not pregnant. Can someone please explain to me other signs of ovulation. I've heard some people can gauge the position of there cervix? How do you measure that and how does it help. I would appreciate any feedback.

I don't check my cervix but I do use ovulation predictor kits to determine when I ovulate. Have you tried these?

Hi Msteri. No I haven't tried them because i was under the impression that you still have to kow roughly when you are ovulating to take the test. Is that true? I've also heard mixed reviews in regards to saliva based tests like "maybe baby" so I haven't gone down that road yet either. I was really hoping to figure out the signs to suggest  my fertile window.
