Taking Ativan while 14 weeks pregnant

I recently caught a cold while I was 14 weeks pregnant.Whenever my nose gets blocked, I suffer great anxiety and cannot sleep for fear I won't be able to breathe.After 5 days of absolutely no sleep because of anxiety, I went to the emergency and the Doctor prescribed me 5 pills of ativan. I have been taking it every night for 5 nights to help me sleep and it works.Each pill containes 1mg.Now I'm afraid that taking this for 5 nights straight will have an effect on my baby. Do you have an evidence or know of some expecting mothers who have done what I've done and gave birth to a baby with a disorder because of this.Please let me know if I put my baby at big risk and what could possibliy happen to him/her as an outcome of this.

Please call your OB/GYN to find out.  This will probably help put your mind at ease.

However, as long as the ER doctor knew you were pregnant, I don't think a prescription for Ativan would have been given unless the benefits far outweighed the risks.  I read most use caution in not using Ativan in the first trimester but you are past that stage now.
