Your doctor should do a blood test before forcing a period. When I first read your subject line, I thought your pill was too strong (thus not causing a period), but since you've been on it for so long, I guess that's not the case. You didn't just recently switch pill brands/types did you?
Definitely request a blood test for confirmation before taking any pills to induce a period. Also, your doctor probably wouldn't induce one this early (I would think) ... it is completely safe to only have one period every 3-4 months, and they usually only induce it (around here anyway) if you exceed this timeframe.
The dr may tell you to continue taking the pill, but to take a week off when you start your period (breakthrough). If you have not changed anything in your schedule, then I can't imagine that you would be this normal for five years and then get pg on the pill, but stranger things have happened. I would say the odds of pg are relatively low so long as you are taking the pill daily (not skipping a day and then taking two the following day, etc.).
I would give it a couple more days and take another home pregnancy test. Don't schedule your appointment for the next day at the dr ... I would schedule the appointment out until Wednesday or after and take another home test Wednesday. Keep us posted. Best wishes!
be careful i concieved my first child on depo and second on the pill and i was very consistent so i know for a fact that you can get pregnant on it. With depo i was pregnant with twins and the first 7 tests said not pregnant then went to doc and found out by blood
