The vein had plenty of blood but the needle couldn't get into it..That's scary!
I see you having a hard time too,eh..You know,I don't know what is happening to my  right arm..They tryed 4 times already but no blood coming! So,maybe next time I should ask them if I can take blood from my hand just like you..Wonder if it hurts..

Thank you, wish you the best luck on thursday:)

God Bless

For my recent IUI they determined that from drawing blood so much in the past my veins must have gotten calloused (kind of like scarring).  We determined this because everyday my veins would be big and puffy and prominant, and they would repeatedly stab me in both arms chasing the vein around (every time having to try both arms).  They said that the vein had plenty of blood but the needle couldn't get into it and would just push it to the side.  I also was going in just about everyday because I have PCOS so they were monitoring me VERY carefully and taking things very slow - amounting to lots more tests!  Then one day when neither arm would give they went into my hand, which immediately blew up, went black and blue, and throbbed for 2 days.  Honestly, I have my beta this Thursday and after all of that, I'm almost dreading it because I never want to have my blood drawn again!  I was ready to tell them to put a damn IV thing in me and I'd promise to keep it clean so I could just come in and they could plug me in and take my blood! :o)

Good luck on Wednesday!!!

Oh! You mean to test your levels. Sorry! I thought you mean YOU were taking your blood. My poor right arm was very sore, too. They had to go to my left arm because the veins on the right were shot for the time being. I don't like getting my blood drawn, but I got pretty used to it during those 2 weeks before my 2 IUIs. Neither one worked for us. Clomid was not good for me, it screwed up my cycle and made AF come within a few days after O. I've been off it for 2 months now and last month AF came a a more normal time and this month I am 14 dpo/cd31 and no AF and neg FRER. I'm testing again tomorrow morning.

When is your IUI? I wish you the very best of luck!
