Taking a break - but questions about temping...

Well, I haven't gotten AF - but it's only a matter of days.  I did O late, if at all, so I will see what early next week brings me.  We are going to wait until after the new year to start trying again.  We are out of money and I am just going crazy!  We say we are going to take a break all the time - but we never do.  I really hope I can just let it go for a few months and find something else to concentrate on.

My question is about temping.  I get my husband up at 6:00 because he wouldn't hear the alarm clock.  He then goes and take a shower and I sleep another hour or two.  He comes in to kiss me bye, and I usually wake up then.  I don't sleep very well once I wake him up.  Should I temp when I get him up or when I actually get up - around 7:30??

Thanks!

Yep you should temp. b4 your eyes even open LOL, Well as close to that as possible, even some brain activity can affect it! If you have a min. look at my chart, I quit temping cuz I got extremely lucky! , But my temps are pretty flat, and you can definately see the difference before and after "O" if you do it consistantly! Good luck dear!

Well, ideally you should temp at complete rest...so if you don't sleep very well, it can affect your temperatures. But I think you should try it anyway. You'll probably still be able to see a clear pattern. I sometimes have nights when I just keep waking up, yet my chart is still pretty straight forward....lower temps before O, a rise, and then higher temps after O. Good luck!

thanks for the advice.  i do wake up alot during the night, so do you think that temping would even be a good idea for me?  i don't know why i have trouble sleeping - maybe i should concentrate on getting that under control!!

Hi texasangel! I understand taking a break. This whole TTC thing can get pretty stressful after a while. We'll miss you, though... As for temping, I think you should take your temperature at 6 a.m., since you only get another hour and a half after that and probably won't be at complete rest at that time (they say you need at least three hours of uninterupted sleep before temping). Take care of yourself, and take some time to enjoy each other over the next few months!
