Temperatures and Fertility Charting

I've recently started using Fertility Awareness Method for achieving pregnancy.  I'm still getting used to taking my temperature and actually missed taking it for 4 days after the second day of my period.  Now I'm having a hard time reading my chart and it is saying I haven't ovulated yet (18 days into cycle).  My cycles are generally 26-28 days and I'm wondering if missing those 4 days is affecting the reliability of my chart.  Please advise.

You could always check your cervical position as well. If you have the book you should know how to do that...

I don't think that would affect your chart.  My chart always looks somewhat erradict right up until I ovulate - then there is a very clear shift and everything falls into place.  It is possible that you are just having a longer cycle than what you are used to.  A friend of mine thought her cycles were 28 days too until she started monitoring them and now realized they actually vary a lot.     I have found it to be very important to not move or rustle around too much before taking my temp.  I also put the thermometer in the very same place everytime and sort of push it under my tongue during the reading.  So far so good.
