The Business of Being Born

I just got done watching "The business of being born". It was a documentary on midwives and the state of maternity care nowadays. If you get a chance to watch it - you won't be sorry! If you have netflix, you can watch it online. Hope everyone is doing well. HUGS!

It is really great! Opened my eyes to what happened in my first childs birth that will NEVER happen again! Going to look into midwives more before making any decisions :)

I know it, I wish so badly I could get a do over on that first birth.  Because of it, I'm now stuck with no choices, will have to have a c/section (which I HATE) for any future births, due to having had a uterine rupture.  It sucks.

I am so sorry that happened. It makes everything a blur. My first doc gave me drugs that weren't explained to me. I kept passing out and coming to in the middle of a contrction screaming because I wasn't able to prepare myself ahead of time. I will NEVER let that happen again. I am not fully sold on the midwife thing, mainly because I want to have an OR standing by - just in case. But I am looking into it... We will see, gotta get pregnant - and stay pregnant first!

If I had a do over, I would have stayed home the first time.  I went in when my water broke, no contractions yet, so I was on the clock.  Second time, I wanted OR nearby b/c I'd had the first c/s, and I needed it.  Now I'm stuck with surgical birth as my only option, and I HATE IT.  

I'm sorry you went through that, you should have better support than that, but it's easy to pick it all apart after the fact, huh?  But I hear you on the getting pg, staying pg thing!
