Hello to all....Okay well I have been off BCP for 1yr and 4 months. I have had my progesterone levels tested and all normal, also a folicle study was normal, my periods are 28 days on the dot. So everythings is normal with me. But me Husbands count was low about 6 months ago, but we have a 6 yrs old already, so I know he is fertile. We have not had it tested again but the doc gave me clomid 10mg. I have not took it yet but I am going to start it this cycle, I am just nervous to think that if his count is low there is no hope even with clomid.
Hello! and welcome!! i would definitely have your husbands count rechecked.. it can really change - especially the count every 3 months.. how low was it? I have been on several different drugs for ovulation, but not clomid - i want to say 10mg is a REALLY low dose.. that most people start out on 50mg.. so it will be good to see how your body responds to it.. even if your husband has a low count, the more eggs that are released for his swimmers
to meet up with the better chance... so i say its definitely worth a try! as far as helping his count- avoid hot tubs/baths, heated seats, and then he can take a multivitamin that has zinc in it along with 1000mg of vitamin C supplement.. those things can't hurt but only help his count and speed!! :) GOOD LUCK!
Thank you so much for your feedback. His count out of 20 mil it was 5 mil. Once we were told about his count I just lost hope and then the doc said to try Preseed, he tried it but the count was the same. I have just really lost hope and its frustrating.
Hi, im starting clomid 50mg soon but i have PCOS and my husbands count was really low when he was tested back in 2007. We are going tomorrow to retest him hopefully it will be better. The other thing i was gonna say was may be iui would be an idea for u, have u disscussed that with ur doc?
Good luck!
I also agree with silvermist, maybe IUI would be a good way to go, while the zinc and vitamin C are given a chance to work! : ) Don't lose hope.. the good thing about something like suboptimal count is that there is always a fix!! whether it be IUI or IVF at least there IS a solution! : ) Good luck! and keep us updated!!!
