Trigger shot and ovulation

Hi, I just have a question. This is my first cycle on Gonal-f and iui. I was wondering if, when I trigger, do I release eggs from both ovaries? I think yes but I'm still not sure. If I have 4 eggs on both sides then I will have 8 eggs release...Yikes, but I'm 44 and the odds of all 8 fertilizing is small. Right?

only the mature ones will release.  most doctors will not trigger you with more than 3 dominant follicles due to the hige risk of multples.

My RE told me she was not worried due to my age. I'm still a little worried. So the mature ones on both sides, right?

All 8 may not mature. You may have just some that become dominant. You will have to wait and see when you have your u/s right prior to when he would want to do the HCG. Yes, a trigger can cause you to ovulate all your dominant folicles from both sides but no guarantees.  Your other commenter is correct that most docs won't trigger you with more than 3 anyway. You would just have to ovulate on your own without the trigger because you would be more likely to ovulate only one then.  Good Luck!!!

when is your next follicle scan? you should be starting to get an idea of how many of the largest ones you have and how many are likely to trigger as you get closer.
