Oh okay, so I'll be having my trigger shot on sat or sunday too... and IUI the next day. This is my first IUI cycle with injectibles. but I've already been thru 3 clomid IUIs and 1 ivf, all of which failed of course. But I have new insurance this year... and they're really mean :(( and they want me to go thru iui+injectible before they even "think" of approving ivf. Sigh.
Anyway, your gushing has lifted my spirits about my follicles!!! hehehehe. all my best wishes to you... and our nerves for the next couple of weeks ;-)
love,
Julie
haha!! i know i sware to myself each 2ww that i won't read into everything, but everytime i do!!! Its been 4 or 5 months since i've been in a tww! I won't know for sure until sunday if I am or not though - they have to check to make sure that my follies ruptured! if they did then i can finally breathe a little and officially be in the 2ww!!!
WOOOOO thats awsome! Your follies sound great! Is this your first cycle on injectables? what did you try before that?? Wow, it defintely sounds promising! : )
Yea i think Ovidrel works for most people, but the 5% that have stubborn follies respond better to the hcg shots better - thats the rumor anyways! i hope its true!
Thats so exciting about all of your follies !: ) GOOD LUCK! : )
Thanks very much for the info bny807:)) I wonder why they would prescribe ovidrel if it's not as effective... hmmm.. Whoa, shortage of novadrel? I just had an ultrasound check today and they found 5 maturing follicles, (14mm, 15mm, 13mm, 15.5mm, 12mm). I'm not sure if they're too few or too many. My RE said she's glad I don't have more than 7 mature follicles, which would mean I over stimulated. I always thought more follicles, mean more eggs... but OHSS is also something to note I guess..
Oh gosh, so you're in the 2WW then!! Hey I'm going to be joining you in a day or two, so we can compare notes and mood swings and over analyse every real and imagined symptom.. ha ha ha. Good luck to you!!!
Hello! Well i'm on femara, trigger IUI and progesterone.. i had 2 follies this cycle (one last time but the follie didn't rupture : ( ) and hopefully they both released an egg!!! I"m pretty sure with the ovidrel at least thats what my RE office said that its subcutaneous and also tends not to be as effective as Novadrel - which is an hcg trigger - i took 10000 units intramuscular.. its to mature and release the egg hopefully 36 hours or so later!! I guess since Ovidrel isn't a natural HCG it works a little differently! but people like it since SubQ shots are easier i guess. aslo there is a national shortage on Novadrel I hear!
I just had my IUI today! Good luck with your IUI! I hope all goes well and keep me updated !: )
Hey bny807, that's very interesting to know! Are you going through an IUI+ injectible cycle? I'm also going through one, and my trigger shot will be in 2 days. I didn't know that Ovidrel is subcutaneous!! I always thought if it was similar to HCG trigger shot, then it should be intra-muscular and it should be taken on the butt. Now i'm so confused..
Btw, do you know what is novadrel for? and could you also share info on how many follicles/size/units of gonal-f shot, etc?
Wishing you all the very best for your cycle!!
good luck,
Julie
Thanks! yea it was supposed to be subcutaneous (in the fat) so belly was the typical route! I did get my novadrel in the bum though several days ago! hopefully it will actually work this time!!!
In the belly. Butt is a different kind of injection.
I also injected into my stomach, u can also do it in the thigh. The stomach is much easier though
I injected my ovidrel into my belly. And it triggered like it was supposed to - but 3.5 days later :)
