Undetected STD from many years ago, left infertile or sterile????? So Scared

I am a 30 year old female, married. At 16 I lost my virginty, and I became pregnant after a few times. I had an abortion(regret daily) I was too scared. Also I had cheated on my boyfriend once and was so afraid that I had an STD like AIDS, I knew the baby was his because I was pregnant unknowingly at time, before I cheated. I had also recently been diagnose with EBV, mono, I was a mess. I was about one month pregnant and had just cheated,7 days after cheating I got symptoms of STD, pain while urinating, pain during sex, constant need to urinate.Tested negative for std's I can't remember which std's were tested,
Well I had the abortion, same day began too have severe pain, bleeding,my insides felt as though they were exploding, I could feel popping going on inside. Why???
I stupidly did not get checked for this.
We tried to have baby after for a year, to fill pain and void(selfishly),couldn't conceive. (I deserve this )
I don't trust the result, makes too sense that I have to have had sTD, PID that made me sterile. COuld test be wrong twice???
I have been sexually active only using pull out method for the last 13 years,no pregnancy. I made several stupid choice, I am now born again christian, and have a wonderful husband I just want to have babies with.

Anytime! I to have you in my prayers I just want to say this to you God will make a way for us but I want you to do this for yourself go have a pap! It's so important for us women to see about ourselves and to do that is to have regular checkups! If you don't have insurance right now it's ok I know some where there is a clinic of some kind that will provide you with the basic check up. They are some times called Center for Women and Children are maybe a local clinic call around or ask some friends or neighbors if they know of any facilities that perform checkups for a little of nothing or maybe for free considering your circumstances. Early detection of anything is the best diagnoses go get check please. WE ARE HERE 4 U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Haileya and Must Be, I am just amazed to come back to my post every so often and see responses. I will have you both in my prayers that you do not have to go as far as IVF. That God will give you strength and fill your hearts with his love that you and I and all of us can live through and still be joyful with whatever we do have to go through.
Take Care, And thanks for sharing your stories they really do help, I feel so lost and bling sometimes, because I haven't had so much as a Pap Smear in over a year, much less started on my direction towards treatment. My husband and I havent' actually started trying yet. But I just am sure I have an issue with Infertility since I have not become pregnant in 13 years of unprotected sex.

I'll give you the history of my experience.

My husband and I were trying for about a year and nothing happened.  So I went to my reqular gyno and she asked if I could document my periods and continue to try because at the time I was 28 which is young.  About 3 months later I went back to her with my documented cycle (this helped her determine if I ovulate) I also had my husband do an at home sperm analysis.  You can find these tests at Walgreens.  It showed he had a normal sperm count (make sure your husband gets a sperm analysis from your doc because their test will measure much more than count). About 3 weeks later I had all of my blood work done and the HSG which showed both of my tubes were open and normal.  My gyno referred me to a reproductive endocrinoligist (fertility doc).  I started seeing him in June of 2006.  He looked at my records and we started off doing natural artificitial insemination (natural meaning no fertility drugs) I did 4 cycles with no luck.  I am now on gonal F and a trigger which hyper stimulates your ovaries to make more eggs each cycle.  I have done this for 2 cycles no luck.  I just got back from him today and found out I have 2 large cysts on my right ovary and 1 blood filled cyst on my left.  Also my Luthel Phase is short so I would probably miscarry anyway.  Now my progestone is off.  So I have to take a break for a couple of weeks.  I will have one more cycle with fertility drugs and if I do not become pregnant he will do a laproscopic surgery to get a better look inside.  After that I guess IVF???  Unexplained infertility.  So here are the tests I've had:
blood work to check hormone levels and to see if I ovulate
STD panel-for all STD's
HSG
vaginal Ultrasound
husband- semen anlaysis and STD panel

THE FIRST DAY I WENT TO FERLITITY DOC,HE ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SEX LIFE,HE THEN PERFORMED VAGINAL ULTRASOUND WHICH ALLOWS HIM TO LOOK A LITTLE HE NOTICED SOME SCAR TISSUE BUT ALSO SAW THAT I OVULATED JUST FINE. IN HIS WORDS I HAD A BEAUTIFUL EGG JUST SITTING BUT HE INFORMED ME OF SCAR TISSUE RIGHT THEN,ABOUT FOUR DAYS LATER I HAD HSG PERFORMED NERVOUS AND AFRAID BUT IT WAS FAIRLY QUICK JUST INCOMFORTABLE BUT YOU CAN STAND. THIS TEST WILL LET HIM KNOW IF YOU HAVE BLOCKED TUBES HE INSERTS A DYE INTO YOU AND IT'S SUPPOSE TO TRAVEL INTO THE CERVIX IF NOT THEN A TUBE IS BLOCKED IN MY CASE MY RIGHT WAS BLOCKED BUT LEFT WAS CLEAR. ON THE 22ND I HAVE A LAPROSCOPY WHICH WILL FIX THAT PROBLEM AND IF SCAR TISSUE IS THERE HE WILL FIX THAT ALSO. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ MANY LADIES CONCEIVE RIGHT AFTER THIS PROCEDURE AND SOME DON'T THEY GO ON TO INVITRO WHICH IS THE NEXT PROCESS IF NO BABY AFTER DOING LAP SURGERY. WISH ME LUCK THAT I DON'T HAVE TO GO THAT ROUTE OK

Thank you all so much, I feel not alone now, I know that God brought us together on this site for a reason. I will pray for all of you to have your  hearts desire. Yes I will look into getting insurance quotes and finally get that HSG(is that the abbreviation?). I hate to keep asking but,
I have a few questions if anyone could answer:
A) What are some or all of the tests for fertility that you ladies have been through?
b) What did the procedure entail?
C) What were your experiences? Did any of you conceive?
D) Do you know if both your tubes are completely blocked, does that mean you are sterile, and therefore not possible to conceive naturally? Unless of course God gives you a miracle.
I know that I need to get to a doctor, the idea both excites and scares me. I want to know, but at the same time am afraid to hear horrible news, I don't know how I will handle it.

First, I would get insurance. Then I would ask your obgyn for an STD panel to be done. Chances are, you never had one, and if you did, they will often resolve themselves after several years. ONCE you have insurance, then ask your obgyn to run some basic tests.

And forgive yourself for being a stupid kid- we all made foolish choices when we were younger, but you can't beat yourself up over it.

Yeah I agree with the others.  You should not be so hard on yourself.  I'm sure what you went through was scary and has been on your mind for many years but like mlkspge said you were a kid!  I did really dumb things when I was 20.  I am 30 yrs old and I too am having a hard time getting pregnant.  My husband and I have been trying for over 2 years and to top it off I just got my period today! Call around tomorrow and get some insurance quotes.  Once you figure it out get that HSG and find out whats going on so you can have some piece of mind.  If you want to know about the procedures please feel free to ask!  I have been through many and so has a bunch of other ladies on this site.  Good luck to you and believe me it will work its self out:)  hang in there girl-I'm praying for you.

You are not the only I to had chlamydia and years later I found out I had got another STD called Trich I had never even heard of it I did get treated but I don't know how long I had it before I was told, I was about 19 or 20 felt fine and everything. I do know that Haileya is right if you have ttc and have not become pregnant you do need HSG I had one this past Friday this past week because I wasn't sure if I could become pregnant and sure enough I have a right blocked fallopian tube but left is clear I can still become pregnant but my chances are greater with two unblocked tubes. I to did not have any insurance but I obtained some because I had to know if there was in fact a problem. If you have ttc with hubby and have not gotten pregnant I urge you to find out God will make a way for you to obtain insurance. If you don't do this you will only keep asking yourself. I feel much better knowing now I suspected a problem all along and now that I know I can get help. God will make a way if it's meant I know if I can you can! Don't give up on your dream God has forgiving you for your past choices you have been born again! He loves you and wants you to be happy not worried and if you read most of the post alot of ladies just stop ttc and they become pregnant because they stop worrying about it!

You need to get an HSG, it is a x-ray that will tell you whether your falopian tubes are open and the shape of your uterus. (My spelling is horrible today I;m sick)
definition:

A hysterosalpingogram is an X-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes which allows visualization of the inside of the uterus and tubes. The picture will reveal any abnormalities of the uterus as well as tubal problems such as blockage and dilation (hydrosalpinx). If sterilization reversal is planned, the point at which the tubes are blocked can be seen. This helps to plan the reconstructive procedure.

Thank you so much for your encouraging post. I wasn't sure where to ask my question, and was not allowed many words, so I cut my story short. I know that chlamydia and gonhorrea, both can lead to infertility, by scarring of tubes, etc.
I really pray that I can just leave it all up to God as my husband insists I need to do. He believes that whatever God's will is will be done, no matter what the circumstance, and I know this is true, I just can't help but worry. And I can't relax till I know. I unfortunately do not have Med. Ins. so I can't afford to  go to fertility dr. I wonder where I could go that could test my fertlity for a reasonable price.

Did doctor tell you this? I do know that STD"s can cause infertility if un treated but you see RE for more information. Don't give up hope I saw recently at a church testimony were a young lady had STD ahe was told she would never have kids guess what she has 4 teen boys! Another young lady I saw on tv was taking about how  blessed she was she to was tols she would never have kids and gave birth to a healthly baby girl. My best friend was in a car accident as a teen she was told she would never have kids she now has three and as sad as it may sound aborted one so GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS!!!
