I was going to lay off TTC for a while but I can't bring myself to do it just yet. I am charting and I was wondering how weather and your home thermostat might affect your BBT? Im in NC and the weather is crazy, day before yesterday it was 78F and today it was 52F. We go from the AC to the heat
I try to wear the same type of clothing to bed. I'm going to be in trouble soon when it gets really hot because right now I wear a thermal top. But as far as the room temp I don't know the answer to that if it's going up and down daily. I do know that sometimes my room will be too hot and I'll wake up sweaty and I think that my temp is going to be at 99 or something but then when I take my temp it will still be normal or low if it's in the follicular phase.
I live in Florida and our weather is crazy, too. We were pushing 90 and now cooling off again. I was roasting one night when I went to bed and temps still in same range. They seem to stay pretty constant for me regardless of weather. The think that makes mine go nuts is drinking! Wow, have a few drinks and it shoots up a degree or even 2!
I agree with Tina on the drinking. Man, that seems to be the only thing that will make my temp skyrocket. So be careful of drinking anywhere near O time because it'll throw you completely off.
Wouldn't you know, every time it's a critical temp day, I end up drinking?!? lol Again this month. The freaky early opk that turn pos on cd7, temps skyrocketed next day! I shoot myself in the foot
Oh yeah, that would have driven me crazy after the positive OPK and I would have been all out of kilter the whole cycle!! I always seem to travel around O time and I usually have a drink (or two) and then my chart is all messed up. Plus, it's fun to BD under the influence sometimes. What's strange is, since I've been really ttc, the last time I tried to drink wine instead thinking it's a little safer than the other kind of alcohol, and then my temps actually went LOWER than ever the next morning. That's why I thought I had hypothyroidism.
Last time the morning after drinking, they went way high. The next am after laying around all day then early bed, they dropped way below cover line, I think like a 3deg diff. The next day leveled out and back to normal. Looks like a tremor
I am on CD4 and on CD1 and 2 I didn't bother doing BBT. Yesterday my temp. was 96.8 and today was 97.0. I just started charting again, I used it for a year and my temp. was so different from day to day like 96.3 then the next day it would be 97.9. So I gave up, things seem to be more normal now so im going to try it again. Ive almost completely forgotten what to look for (the dip?), not to mention im using a data spread sheet for keeping up with our checking account to chart! sticky baby dust to all
I used to use the sheet too. Try fertilityfriend.com. Charting simplified. It takes all the guesswork out and then you can share if you have questions. It's free for a while and I've never gotten spam or anything from the site. Feel free to go in and look around with my login tina11112 password b308. You can also see what drinking does to my chart, lol It has so much info and gives tips every day.
