What Next??? Any Advice Welcome

Last March I became pregnant after only being off of birth control for 1 month.  Prior to that I had been on birth control for almost five years.  I had a D&C on June 12th after finding no heartbeat on a 12 week appointment.  The baby only measured about 9 or 10 weeks.  I had a period 25 days after the D&C and have had fairly regular periods since then, but no pregnancy.  We have tried IUI and my gyn does a lot of transvaginal ultrasounds and I usually have some free fluid, but the lining is good.  I ovulate every month.  The OB is recommending blowing out my tubes and a hysteroscopy to see what it is going on.  She thinks I may have some endometriosis.  About 2 and half years ago I went to a now care clinic with pelvic pain, but nothing was diagnosed; I was in another state.  When I returned home I saw my OBGYN and she saw free fluid then and suspected either a cyst or endometriosis.  I also have a tipped uterus, Factor V Leiden, and MTHFR.
My question is why did I get pregnant so quickly the first time and have not been successful again?  Does the free fluid suggest anything abnormal?  Should the hysteroscopy and/or laproscopy be performed or what should my next step be?  Thank You.

I would definitely go for the lap. It will give a lot more clear picture of what's going on in there. I wish I could tell you why it happens so easily sometimes then not again. The same thing happened to me. I got pg with new dh on the 1st try. Miscarried at 12wks with a torn placenta. It's been 2yrs since then. The only explanation they have given is that I was "lucky" the one time. Yeah, real lucky, lol.  I hope they get to the bottom of it soon for you!

I, too, was diagnosed with MTHFR after finding out I had had two small strokes. I recently learned it can be the cause or contribute to miscarriages (I had one in between having my two girls). If you are homozygous for the condition, it is imperative you stay on a daily regimin of Vitiman B, folate and aspirin. Consult your doctor on the levels you should take. I also recelty learned that this condition can contribute to anxiety and depression. As far as all of your other concerns, I would consult a geneticist and a reproductive endocronologist. Finally - my OBGYN told me I could NEVER be on any hormonal therapy.
