What is a good nember range for 1st beta or 1st pregnancy blood test?

Hi there everyone!

Today is 07-07-10.

I had IVF done 8 days ago and I go in for my pregnancy test on day 10 post transfer (2 more days). My transfer was with two 5-day blastocyst and transferred on day 5. They were donor eggs.

I'm really wondering what are "good to great" or even acceptable numbers vs something that is showing signs of pregnancy struggle or loss.

I took a home pregnancy test already and it's positive, so I'm looking forward to hearing the numbers, but also dreading them.

Do any of you have a chart of something I can see? Thanks in advance and I'll check back in a little bit to see if anyone has a good answer :)

Bleeding this morning. Doc said probably lost one. Of course, I feel it could be both. Ultrasound moved to this Wednesday instead of Friday. Will post on Wed or Thurs.

Thank you all for your continuing support and good luck to you.

I had super high numbers with my singleton
then low regular steady numbers with first set of twins
second set of twins my beta was 129 9 days post transfer

My first beta was high, too. 600 then jumped to 2000 two days later. I thought maybe it was an indicator of twins; however, I only have one perfect little one growing in there. Doc said as long as beta is doubling, don't worry about how high until the u/s. Just consider yourself lucky with a strong beta and pray it continues to double.  Good luck to you!

Mybabypooh,

I am taking progesterone injections and the dosage was increased after my 1st beta numbers came back at only 14. My 2nd and last number (3 days later) for progesterone was 20.9.

Do you think my hcg numbers are a bit on the high side? I read all the time how people are shocked that their level is so crazy-high with 200+ on their first beta for similar situations (same dpt & 5 day blast...) and then mine comes back at 1000+!

What are the odds that it could be more than two?

Trust me, I'm not complaining. I feel very fortunate with these numbers, but they do seem extremely high.

Are you currently taking progesterone injections? I had to take the injections until I was released to a regular OB. Your Beta is excellent!
CONGRATULATIONS!

My transfer was on 06-27-10. Today is 07-09-10 and I had my first beta test.

Progesterone level:
14

Estrogen level:
873

Beta HCG level:
1062

What do you all think of my levels?

I spoke with my wonderful nurse and she said everything looks great, but the progesterone level will need to increase to about 20. I'm now on 2cc of progesterone in oil instead of 1.5cc....starting tomorrow.

Have any of you ever experienced a low level of progesterone? I'd love to hear all about it, if so. Thank you :)

I'm going to paste this into a new post also. I hope that isn't frowned upon in here.

Thank you Mybabypooh and congratulations!

Your baby sounds super healthy!

Right now, I'm waiting on the call to see if it's positive and then in two days (7-11-10) I'll know if it's doubling.

I'll be back :P

I had IVF w/donor eggs and my first beta was 443, a couple of days later it was 2142. The numbers were high but I am not having twins. But, like they stated above, as long as your numbers are doubling you are good. Best of luck tomorrrow!

Thanks Kricket212 & seattleview :)

That sounds like good advice. I was looking for an exactly number, but as long as it doubles then I'm fine, it seems. Sounds like more waiting around for news, but I'm sure I'll have to get used to it sometime, lol.

My pregnancy blood test is tomorrow...I'll keep posting!

I second Kricket212's comment. Once they tell you you're pregnant today, then when they re-test in 48 hours, your beta should approximately double.

QUOTE from seattleview: "If you are currently 8 days past a 5 day blast transfer, that translates to 13 days past ovulation. So your beta will be 15 dpo."

If this is true (not saying it isn't) then my beta levels today should be 136 today according to this chart for median levels, right?

When I have my pregnancy test in two more days from today, that will mean that I'm 17 days past ovulation and my beta levels should be 293 if my levels fall into the median levels, right?

Is this correct or should I just try to sleep for two days, LOL.

Ive read others say that 80 is really good, so I'm just very confused still.

Mybabypooh,

I just want to know what a safe level is for my pregnancy test in two days. When those numbers are read to me over the phone, I want to know what it is I'm hearing, ya know?

Yes, I thought since I had donor eggs, it would be different than non-donor also.

Thanks a bunch, guys!!

I really don't understand your question..are you asking about what a good beta number should be since you used donor eggs?

Forgive my ignorance, but if they are going by "Days Past Ovulation", where will my number fall since I used donor eggs and I'll be on day 10 for my beta test...and that's calculating from a 5 day old blastocyst and it being transferred on day five.....

I'm kinda confused.

See this web-site:

http://betabase.info

It has lowest, highest and median beta levels per day for single. twin and triplet healthy pregnancies.

Happy to hear about your HPT BFP, looks like you got a winner bean in there! wish you good luck with the beta.
